District and Municipal Public Library in Pruszcz Gdański

The library in Pruszcz Gdański is a place where one not only can borrow and read a good book but also meet the authors of one’s favourite novels, see a theatre performance, visit an exhibition or take part in a contest.

The library offers an interesting way for children to spend free time during summer and winter holidays. They have an opportunity to get to know the history of the region. Actors and theatre performances are also invited to the library to make it possible for children to get familiar with the theatre. It organizes author meetings both for adults and for younger readers.

The library also runs a Discussion Book Club, which aims to promote reading and activate communities around libraries. The meetings take place once a month. Apart from lively discussions about the books they have read, the club members also have an opportunity to meet with authors. Another way to promote reading is organizing exhibitions on themes important for the local community. There are also different types of reading and art contests with prizes for participants.
