A visit to the reconstructed ancient amber trade village from Roman times is a unique opportunity to spend time with family and at the same time broaden one’s knowledge and increase historical awareness. The heritage of the Amber Route and trade between the lands of today's Pruszcz Gdański and Rome is presented in an interesting and modern way, and the travel back in time, provided by the reconstructors present in the village, is an unusual adventure that should not be missed.
Faktoria in Pruszcz was opened in July 2011 and since then the village has hosted many events of historical character. Some of the events are associated with the seasons and dates connected with rituals of people inhabiting the area of today’s Pruszcz 2000 years ago. Such events are very often organised on the occasion of winter holidays, long weekend in May, Days of Pruszcz or the anniversary of the opening of Faktoria.
Attractions offered in Faktoria are an excellent alternative to modern forms of leisure. The visitors have an opportunity to participate in events that bring back the life of former inhabitants of the local lands, among others various shows (falconry, ancient dance, old crafts, ancient kitchen and gladiatorial fights), workshops (crafts, historical games, sword fighting, Roman legions drill, weaving),contest of knowledge on Faktoria and life of Goths, historical re-enactments, family fairs, field games and plebeian games.
In 2012 the following events took place: Princess Treasure Hunt, Play and Dance, Become a Legionnaire, Rock Art, Making Pots, Spring Equinox, Thread and Warp, Night of Museums, City Tournament, Faktoria for children, Sow and Plant, Historical Games Tournament, Midsummer Night, Amber Festival, Falconry Show, Circenses Flammantes, Goth Settlement, Martial Arts, Goth Kitchen, Vikings from Truso – About the conquer of the Sea Coast, Autumn Equinox, How Goths Made Shoes or Christmas Fair.
There will also be many interesting projects next year. We would like to invite you to take part, get to know more about history and have fun at the same time. Both children and adults will find something for themselves. Detailed information about events in Faktoria can be found at www.faktoria-pruszcz.pl
